Pennsylvania Primaries Reminders

We have a few messages and reminders for folks hoping to vote in the Pennsylvania Primaries on Tuesday:

If you requested your mail-in ballot before yesterday and still do not have it, your request might not have been processed. There’s a tool to track your mail-in ballot, including when it was delivered to your residence – find it here!

Mail-in ballots have to arrive to the Allegheny County Elections Office by the close of polls on Tuesday. Get it in the mail tonight or early Saturday to ensure it gets there. If you can’t mail it in time, either drop it off at the County Office Building or bring it with you to the polls because you will have to surrender it.

Since Pennsylvania is a closed primary state, anyone not registered as a Democrat or Republican will not get ballots, and you will not have anything to vote on at the polls (in Allegheny County, at least).

Be informed! Research the candidates before you vote by checking out the League of Women Voter’s non-partisan Voting Guide with information about all of the candidates on the ballot.

Many additional questions have been answered in our Voting FAQs. If you have a questions that wasn’t answered by looking there, email us at pittvotes@pitt.edu.

Happy voting!
